Elie-Mai (she/her) is an actor, singer, dancer, and model based in Cardiff, Wales.
Elie-Mai has several years of musical theatre experience through performances notably as Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, and Luke in Camp Rock 2 with Billboard production company. Elie-Mai started dancing professionally at age 4. She has competed in street dance competitions such as UDO, BDO, and SOAR, amongst others, primarily with Chainfam dance company in which the most prestigious position was held.
Elie-Mai has also worked with S4C, the Welsh broadcast channel in Wales, on several television shows including a bedroom makeover where she was the presenter, and another reviewing newly released movies.
Elie-Mai is often mistaken as able bodied despite being disabled. Due to this, she hopes to raise awareness for invisible disabilities in hope to educate others and advocate for kindness and understanding rather than speculation and judgement. She also hopes to bring light to less known disabilities, such as FND, which is medically recognised but continues being researched for definitive impact margins on those affected. Elie-Mai also wishes to bring attention to the Support Dogs UK charity who bring independence back to disabled individuals.
Bleddyn is a black Labrador Retriever that Elie-Mai received as a birthday present in 2021. He was pivotal in strengthening her mental health and regaining routine following her initial period of acute leg paralysis that she overcame against doctor predictions. Support Dog’s pet training program for a Disability Assistance Dog was brought to Elie-Mai’s attention so she applied as she met the criteria. Bleddyn has now graduated from training as is an AID UK certified Disability Assistance Dog. His training has given Elie-Mai her independence back and confidence to live life as she desires. Bleddyn is an incredibly intuitive, intelligent, and friendly dog who has been Elie-Mai’s best friend since they met!
Elie-Mai enjoys travelling and learning other cultures, drawing and art, and reading various genres in her spare time. Her favourite activity is wild swimming with her Disability Assistance Dog, Bleddyn.
