Ekow is an actor, model, and spoken‑word artist whose journey into the creative arts began after multiple sclerosis reshaped his life. A lifelong poet, he explores the human experience and emotional depth through his writing, which naturally led him to acting as another way to tell powerful stories.
Laid‑back, creative, and easy to connect with, Ekow has performed his poetry at the National Theatre and is committed to challenging misconceptions about disability since becoming a wheelchair user in 2014. He’s an active sports enthusiast, competing in wheelchair racing and winning a gold medal in adaptive rowing at the 2016 UK Senior Championships.
Ekow made his screen debut in Been So Long (2018) and has since appeared in short films such as Approval Needed, as well as projects for Channel 4, including the lead role in (Un)Fit for Work. His work also includes national campaigns for the National Lottery, Amazon, and EE, with continued screen presence in 2023 and 2024.
