Brenda is a 21 year old young woman, born and raise in Haiti. She spent part of her childhood in poverty and then left the country after an earthquake in 2010.
At 19, Brenda lost the use of her legs following the Pfizer Covid 19 vaccine. After having a complete paralysis, her condition has gradually improved and she is no longer paralysed but she is still in the need of a wheelchair until the day where she can walk again.
To overcome this disability that appeared suddenly, Brenda was able to count on the support and the help of her loved ones to discover and practice wheelchair basketball, which allowed her to flourish and feel good in her body and mind.
