Melanie was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. She was born profoundly deaf in both ears, wearing a cochlear implant solely on her right ear. With her being deaf in the hearing world, she experienced a frustrating childhood yet she adapted and gained resilience and optimism.
Acting has pushed Melanie to improve her vocabulary and the joy of engaging with people. In 2018 she debuted her first role as Shy Girl in Book Week and her latest role as Elf Girl in Christmess 2023.
Marathon running was the hobby that Melanie picked up, originally to tick off the achievement of completing a marathon. After finishing her first half marathon. She immediately signed up and continues to participate in multiple running events with her choice of charity, Beyond Blue, since 2018. Her recent additional charity is The Shepherd Centre
Reading brings her the joy of looking at illustrated graphic novels despite language barriers. The visual stories are what kept her intrigued. Fortunately, she carried on her childhood skill and continues improving her illustrations. She’s determined that she will publish her own graphic novel series.
