We launched in 2017 with a simple frustration: the people we saw every day were missing from advertising and media.
Founded by sisters-in-law Laura and Zoe, ZBD was built on first-hand experience of working with diverse communities. With backgrounds as a qualified social worker and a SEN teacher, they understood both the power of representation and the harm caused when it is absent, tokenistic or inaccurate.
From the outset, our work was grounded in insight, care and credibility. ZBD began by championing authentic representation of disabled people on screen. Over time, we expanded to ensure diverse voices and talent are included behind the scenes too, shaping every stage of the creative process.
Today, we represent talent across disability, visible difference, age, curve, ethnicity and gender identity, helping brands and agencies create work that is genuinely inclusive.
ZBD has become a go-to agency for diverse talent worldwide. We supply talent across the UK, Europe, Australia and the USA, supporting careers in fashion and beauty campaigns, e-commerce, runway, advertising, TV, film, social media and theatre.
We work with some of the world's biggest brands, from high street to high end, including Google, Gucci, Apple, Disney and Walmart, through direct brand partnerships, in-house teams, production companies or creative agencies.
Along the way, we have developed the careers of high profile talent such as TV star Ellie Goldstein and Paralympian Amy Conroy, while continuing to champion emerging talent from underrepresented communities.
For us, inclusion is not a trend or a box to be ticked. It is about reflecting the real world, reaching new audiences and raising the standard of representation across fashion, media and culture.
