Born in Los Angeles and raised in Compton, California, Taylor Sherrell was diagnosed with vitiligo at the age of 7. Her skin condition first became noticeable on her nose, and gradually progressed to other parts of her body as she grew older. Being the only member in her family to develop this disease, Taylor learned to navigate her skin condition on her own with the help of her supportive mother. With most treatment not being affective towards repigmentation, Taylor managed her vitiligo with self-monitoring and stress management (as vitiligo can be a stressed induced condition). Taylor thrived in grade school through sports, community-based programs, and academic achievements. Taylor graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco, and her Master’s degree in Public Health from UCLA. While growing her career in the healthcare field, Taylor’s passion has always been vitiligo advocacy and modelling. Through Zebedee, Taylor is able to get off to great start towards her career of modelling for vitiligo.
