Matheon was born into a society where her sexuality and gender identity made her a target/victim of government, culture, and even her family's persecution—resulting in her fleeing her home country at the age of 17 and becoming a refugee in the US. There, she began to realize and embrace the very qualities of her nature that threaten her safety and life.

Her life in the US started with many educational opportunities that enabled her to explore and thoroughly study her passions such as film, cinematography, media study, and visual media analysis. However, an extreme circumstance forces her to change her path, and coincidently, she stumbles upon singing. There, she discovers that she naturally possesses the rarest voice type of all, countertenor, and was encouraged by her choir conductor to pursue a path in classical singing.

She accepted and began to pursue a serious path in classical singing, performing at cathedrals, concert halls, and various independent opera companies. Now, after years of abuse and mistreatment, eventually coming to terms with her transness, she wants to show herself to the world, not as a victim, but as an artist.
