Marisa is photographer, mama, and homemaker who is taking the life that was given and is making something beautiful out of it. She was diagnosed with Alopecia, an auto immune disease that causes hair loss, when she was 9 years old. She decided to shave her head when she was 19 after years of trying to hide her hair loss. From there Marisa really started to focus on unlearning everything that was taught to her about beauty and feeling the need to fit in. 

After having her son, Marisa was told she carried the BRCA1 gene which gave her a high risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. She decided to have a preventative mastectomy in February of 2021. She shares her days and her self love journey with social media. Not only to remind others that we are never alone in our differences but also to remind herself. Marisa is based in Michigan.
