Ash is a non-binary transmasculine advocate whose journey through gender transition and breast cancer has fuelled their passion for supporting gender-expansive individuals. During gender-affirming top surgery, an unexpected tumour led to a breast cancer diagnosis, intertwining their cancer journey with pursuing gender transition.

Facing this challenge, Ash found their voice and now champions the needs of trans and nonbinary people with cancer. They focus on advocacy at the intersection of queerness and cancer, raising awareness and creating inclusive support services for the community. Ash's story has been featured by Queering Cancer, the National LGBTQIA+ Cancer Network, Everyday Health, Xtra Magazine, JMIRS, and Wildfire Magazine.

Cancer also taught Ash to pursue new, fulfilling activities and reinvent themselves as an athlete. They find strength and joy in boxing, going to the gym, and pushing their limits with adventures like skydiving.
