BIOGRAPHY
Maya Patil is a 19 year old actor and model based just outside London. She has Down syndrome and a visual impairment. She has been acting for over 10 years and modelling for 4 years. She is studying for a BTEC in Performing Arts Practice at the Chickenshed Theatre. Her career highlights to date include appearing on CBBC's The Dog Ate My Homework,featuring in an EE commercial and modelling for Nike's Body Confident Sport campaign. She
was also included in the Portrait of Britain Volume 6 and her image was displayed on billboards across the UK.
Maya has experience working on professional sets, in studios and on location, with stills and video. She has extensive stage experience and recently took part in the National Theatre Connections project. She advocates for greater opportunities for people with Down syndrome and for increased and meaningful disability representation in the media.
