​Nicole (she/her) is a 20-year old woman residing in the Gold Coast. Nicole was born with ALBINISM, a genetic condition that decreases or inhibits the production of melanin, resulting in fair and sensitive skin, lighter coloured eyes and hair, and an increased susceptibility to various skin and eye conditions. Facing criticism from her peers all her life, for a condition she knew little about and could not control, Nicole made it her life's mission to gain access to a career in the health sector in order to become a voice and a listening ear to those who had conditions that were either unknown or not understood by society as well as the healthcare system. She finally made her dream a reality by pursuing a bachelor's degree in Nursing, where she continues to strive for inclusivity, adaptability and change for uniquely diverse people.
