Daniel McDonald is a proud deaf, Indigenous and gay man. Daniel McDonald is still famous of deaf communities in Sydney Australia. His native language is Auslan sign language (ASL) which is similar to British Sign language (BSL). He also speaks English as a second language with the help of a Cochlear implant. Since 1998, Daniel McDonald has had experience with acting and modelling since when he was 6 years. He has been filmed as part of Sydney World Pride in 2023 and has been interviewed in various media and social media, including The Living Room on Australia’s Network 10, the Qantas Magazine and has had his artwork featured in Archer Magazine. Daniel is 100% deaf.
Daniel has been advocating for First Nation’s disability in Australia, including helping deaf first nation’s individuals to find housing.
Daniel has emerged from the birdcage where many First Nation’s people with disabilities feel trapped and has had a series of successful art exhibitions in Sydney and Tokyo since 2018. He represents the Sydney Metropolitan Local Area Land Council (the local Indigenous governing body of the Sydney area) in Welcome to Country ceremonies.
Daniel is comfortable in front of a camera or audience and is looking forward to amplifying his and others’ talents.
He enjoys communication and travel and is a frequent visitor to both South Eastern and North Eastern Asian countries.
