Charlotte is a happy, bright and joyful girl who was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder at the age of three. She was assessed as having Level 2 severity in social communication deficits and Level 1 severity in restricted and repetitive behaviours, requiring substantial support.

At a young age, Charlotte experienced challenges including shyness, clinginess, delayed speech and limited interests—signs that can sometimes be overlooked as simply being “part of growing up.” Early identification and intervention can make a meaningful difference in a child’s life journey.

With the support of occupational, play, speech and psychological therapies, Charli has made wonderful progress. She now attends a mainstream primary school, has her own friends and loves drawing, roller skating, playdates and sleepovers with friends.

Charlotte’s journey shows that with early support, understanding and encouragement, children with disabilities can thrive and shine in their own unique way.
