Nicola was born missing her lower left arm. From as long as she can remember, she never allowed her beautiful uniqueness to make her feel incapable of doing anything. She remembers learning to tie her shoelaces, tying her hair, and knitting at school—moments she was deeply proud of at a young age. At the age of 16, she broke her arm and lost some movement, meaning that tasks which were once easy can now sometimes be challenging.
Growing up, she never saw anyone on television or in magazines who looked like her. She hopes to be that person for young people with a beautiful uniqueness, to show them that they can and will feel it is okay not to look like everyone else. She is passionate about raising awareness in industries such as film and television, modelling, magazines, and beyond, and encourages them to hire people with different abilities—believing that disability should never be a reason to be overlooked.
After living in New York City for 16 years and travelling across the United States during that time, she developed a deep love for travel.
She loves hiking and reformer Pilates. She lives in the countryside and enjoys getting out for walks. Recently, she has fallen in love with cooking—learning her own ways to chop and peel food, and now exploring how to do so with her bionic arm. She is most passionate about décor and creating seasonal craft projects.
