Clara Chamberlain is an experienced performer with Down’s Syndrome.
She is in her final year of a BA in inclusive Performance at Chickenshed Theatre, having passed her Foundation Degree and BTEC Level 3 there. Clara has appeared in over 10 productions at Chickenshed and is part of their outreach production ‘Inclusion Emergency’ performing a monologue about having Down’s Syndrome.
Before Chickenshed, she appeared in many dance shows and competed in dance festivals, winning medals and cups for her modern dance and ballet solos. She has also won prizes for her poetry recitals.
Clara promotes inclusion in education, having remained in mainstream school until she was 16.
Clara loves swimming and has always been a member of a swimming club, competing in galas.
Clara has reached Level 1 in British Sign Language and is continuing to learn the next level.
