Tayah has a sensorineural hearing loss, wears hearing aids and uses a radio aid. Tayah’s hearing loss is a result of a genetic condition: MYH9 disorder. Tayah has good clear speech as she was born hearing and acquired her hearing loss after she had learned to talk.
Tayah is a focused and determined fun loving little girl who loves to showcase her excellent gymnastics skills. Tayah is extremely flexible and is often found either sat in the splits, upside down in a walking handstand, Cartwheeling or back flipping across any free space that she can find. Tayah is a competitive gymnast who has performed very well in all her competitions to date.
Tayah also enjoys dancing and will have a go at any style of dance. Tayah’s current preferred dance styles are commercial and ballet. Tayah has recently started competing in dance competitions and likes to wow the judges with her impressive dance moves.
Another one of Tayah’s hobbies and talents is signing songs in BSL. Tayah is able to learn to sign a song very quickly, her current favourites being songs from the Greatest Showman.
