Inês (she/her) is a Portuguese actress and creator born in 1998. She is an amputee and performs using either a wheelchair or a prosthetic leg and walking cane.
She started doing theatre at the young age of 13, and never stopped since. She trained acting in high school at the Escola Profissional de Teatro de Cascais before graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Acting from the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema. She then completed her professional residency as an actress at Teatro Nacional D. Maria II, Portugal’s National Theatre, during the 2020–2021 season.
Since graduating, Inês has built a diverse career across theatre, film, commercials, and voice acting. Her voice work includes the Portuguese dubbing of Netflix’s Leo and Monstros Medonhos. She has extensive experience working on professional film and commercial sets, collaborating with a wide range of creative teams.
As one of the few professional actresses with a visible disability working in Portugal, Inês is a regular speaker at conferences and public events, where she discusses disability, representation, and inclusion within the performing arts.
Inês is passionate about authentic representation on screen and stage. She believes everyone deserves the opportunity to be seen and to tell their own stories, and hopes her work encourages disabled children and young people to believe there is a place for them in the arts.
Alongside her acting career, she runs Tira Tramas, a small crochet brand through which she explores another side of her creativity by designing and making handcrafted pieces.
