Nyall Smith (1997, Antwerp - Belgium) has a degree in Liberal Arts and is now studying Architecture.
Nyall’s love for the idea of brutalism herein surely does not only return in his architectural workings alone;
His body being ‘reconstructed’ time and again by undergoing multiple medical operations in his childhood (f.e. concerning a cleft lip), he continues to build an image of it for himself until this day.
Nyall does this by means of tattoos. Multiple of his tattoos in some way depict a harsh truth of a pulverized body straining to hold it together.
